I Am Looking To Replace My Aging KT7, 850 Duron, And PC133 Ram.
After Looking Round For A While I Have Half-Decided On These Components :

    AMD
    • Athlon XP 2400+
    • Alpha 8045
    • Asus A7V8X SATA150/RAID
    • Corsair 256MB DDR XMS3200 CAS2

    Or

    Intel
    • Intel Pentium 4 'Northwood' 2.4BGHz
    • Abit BE7-RAID
    • Corsair 256MB DDR XMS2700 CAS2

What Are Your Opinions On Each Setup And What One Would You Choose ?
I'm Starting To Sway More Towards The AMD Choice

    Thanks In Advance

Yeah, The Prob Is That 512MB Costs Double The Price So I Might Not Be Able To Afford It.

Ps Did You Reply To The Post Here Or A Icrontic First ?

    AMD...

very good choice of mobo, and the sata might come in handy pretty soon...

very nice choice of cpu...wish i could afford one...

and very nice choice of hsf....one of the best out there, if youre looking at air cooling...

the ram amount will be fine, and im sure it wont hurt to add another 256 when the time comes...

Thanks For The Comments All, I Looked At The Abit Motherboard As I Like Abit But It Just Didn't Float My Boat This Time.

Just One Question As The 2400+ Will Be Unlocked I Was Thinking Of Running The Chip At 166*12 Instead Of 133*15 To Get The Performance Increase Of Running The Chip And Memory Both At 166 But Is This Possible ?
