I have the 932, and its lovely. What I suggest though is the ATCS 840 though, as it is beautiful, and comes with DUST FILTERS!!!! The 932 is a hoover, filters can be modded for it fairly easily though...

I strongly suggest the ATCS 840 though. Its a case you'll never have to replace :)

AMD seem to be losing to intel at the moment for performance, especially if you wanna overclock as the new icore cpus overclock lovely. Agree with the ATI range of graphics card, loving my 5850 :D

I'd definitely reduce the RAM to 6GB which elaves you enough to get the 930 & get the Cosmos S case - I really don't like the look of the HAF cases & the Cosmos provides far superior cooling & features.

How does the Cosmos provide superior cooling to either the HAF932 or the HAF922?:confused::confused:

    I have the Cosmos S case for my current rig. To give you an idea of temps mine are currently showing in Everest as;

    CPU - Idles at 45 C
    GPU - Idles at 56 C

Slightly concerning is that it shows my motherboard temp as 50 C.

    Rig as in sig.

I did have 12gb of memory when I originally built it but as previously mentioned it does restrict your overclock potential. Dropped down to 6gb and I can push it to 4.3g and probably more.

By the way the graphics card is a Powercolor 4870 1GB with the stock cooler. Just noticed it isn't in the sig.

So close, but not quite! Don't bother with the 2GB HD 5870. The extra memory makes no difference to performance over the 1GB model at anything but super mentally high Eyefinity resolutions. Unless you mis-typed and meant the HD 5970, in which case, that looks like a tidy little build.:thumb:

The Samsung 1TB HD103SJ is an excellent drive (as is its smaller 500Gb HD502HJ brother). See here for how it stacks up against the competition. The site is also useful for (basic) benchmarking of CPUs, GPUs etc.

i would be tempted to cut down on a few things and get an SSD too.

lose one of the spinpoints, go down to a 700w PSU, 1gb 5870

then you should have enough for an intel 80g gen2

Looking at the benchmarks again the GTX 480 on them is better than the 5970 and is also cheaper

You're looking at the wrong benchmarks. HD 5970 eats the GTX 480 for breakfast. Both are very noisy under load mind, so be warned!

a couple of last minute suggestions:

do you really need 1866 RAM? surely 1600 RAM would be just as good for less money?

also, this ones a personal one, but how much as the equivalent ASUS MB compared to the gigabyte one u specced?
