I don't run the betas as they invariably update (slowly) every time you load steam.

Also, I hear this one breaks chat groups.

This screwed up seven of my games, it suddenly decided they weren't installed, and they totalled up to about 25 gigs and it was trying to re-download them, hmmmm.
Went back to the normal UI and they were installed...I know it's a beta, but that's a pretty bad glitch.

Encountered two different bugs on two different computers but both were an easy fix. Had the browser failure on the laptop and no text in menus on the desktop. I'm liking the layout so far.

No bugs or problems for me so far, except one slight quibble I have. In the shift-tab overlay if you view a friend's game you can't highlight information such as IP addresses in order to copy them. I don't believe this is any sort of bug or flaw in the code, just an oversight.

Apart from being forced to download MW2 MP again it's a big improvement.

I would like to be able to add custom images for non Steam games though in the grid layout but apart from that nothing else to grumble about.

    Yup, worked fine for me.

I'd also recommend that you avoid using the in-game browser. I loaded up a couple of web pages while playing a game, and within about 10 minutes the game crashed because I ran out of memory (all 4GB of it).

I've just installed it on my netbook to have a look at it, it's nice, I like it.

I won't be installing the beta on my main rig though. Would rather wait till the issues are fixed and any changes that are going to be made, are.

I almost always run the beta's, one of the reasons for running them in the first place is to report any bugs, this way the more that run them the more reports they get, and problems can be resolved before general launch.
If you experiance any major issues you can opt out of the beta stage, and leave it to whoever decides to run with them.

Urgh, I hate it so much. What's wrong with the simple interface from before?
