Well looks like windows is releasing its next generation 64 bit O/S. The o/s is really geared towards visual appearance, and things like transition effects and how you navigate though windows. And the security of the o/s has greatly imporved, along with a desktop search that well....WORKS?..hopefully....but there is a huge disadvantage to this. The Vista-Ready PC is as follows:

    64 bit CPU
    128mb video card
    2GB of RAM

to some people that dont really care much about outstanding performance, is this not to much money to spend on a computer? will this lower microsoft sales?

After having a look at the Vista beta for myself, the search functionailty was vastly improved over XP. Everything seemed more out in the open than tucked away, but made for a much busier-looking interface imo. Ran as quick as on an A64, 1GB, 128MB gfx setup.
