    Hey guys

i recently took apart my pc to install a new shiny cpu cooler for my LGA775 quad core, the one i installed was an asus triton 79 amazing limited edition, iv had it for a while but didnt have time to put it in.

i had to remove the motherboard completely to disassemble an old back plate for the prior cooler, and made careful note of all connections.

i know i re-connected the pc near enough 99% perfect because the computer boots and works a treat, its got no stability issues and nothing untoward, other than after windows shuts down, the hardware itself keeps running and i have to manually shut it off at the PSU at the rear, which is annoying really.

Im wondering whether this is a BIOS problem due to a reset from uninstalling my mobo, or if the front panel connectors have gone wrong somehow.

any help would be appreciated. cheers

this in xp? does it give you this screen that says you may shut down your computer now..

also hold down the power button 3 seconds.. should shut off instead of using the psu switch

&edit- here's a pretty thorough guide on the issue http://www.theeldergeek.com/shutdown_issues_in_xp.htm
