Thats nothing compared to what happened to my mum.. she was driving down the motorway.. no problems at all and then for no reason her nearside front tire COMPLETELY exploded leaving only a few shreads of tire left. If i can find the drebry she took home i'll take a pic. Must have been a pretty sobering experiance.

    think of it this way

the sooner you get the bill

the sooner you get your sub on wheels on the road

& the sooner you can treat it to another woofer for surviving :D

have you guessed i ahve a unhealthy obsession with car hifi yet

There is nothing unhealthy about being an obsessed audio nut like myself

I am removing most of my sound kit Sunday, I prefer it to be safe in my house then left in the car.

Micb - Can someone move this into the Motors forum.

Well I have had my car checked out, it needs a new propshaft so I am looking at most likly £300+ repair bill.

The good news is that I am picking up my Grandmothers T Reg Honda Civic 1.6 Es i with 22,000K on the clock tonight as a replacement car until mine is fixed.

Shame about the car dude, hope the bill isn't a hefty b*****d...

Shouldn't this thread be in the "motors" forum instead of here..?

Take photos of the potholes and the damage they have caused to your car. You can probably get the council to pay for the damages to your car.

my car has cost me 20p in replacement parts so far!! It was for a plastic non return valve for the rear washer. the stingy buggers at fiat made me pay for it though.
sorry to hear about the bill. Anyway, when you get your tank on the road again you can go and find the bugger that made you emergency stop and drive straight over his car.

Well I spoke again to garage and the cost may have gone down £100 and may be done in the next few days.

I have been having fun in the new Civic, Air Con is great when it is hot, My volvo does not have this.

The Civic is an automatic around 125 BHP, it has four gears which redlines at 7 RPM, the car gets really peppy around 3000+ RPM.

First gear can be pushed to 40 MPH Second to 68, Third to 100 forth...... did not need to go faster :)

The Civic is faster than my Volvo, it handels nicely but I still notice the difference in FWD understeer to RWD oversteer.

Well I now have my Volvo back and have returned the Civic.

The repairs were cheaper than I thourght, they came to £250 total so I am quite pleased.

I still need a service for the car which I will have done in a couple of weeks :)

I would love to treat it but adding another Infinity would mean getting another amplifier and more wiring the costs would rise.

Summer going out is already costing me too much.
