    Hi everyone,

So it’s time for a new monitor.

My budget is about £250, but it is flexible so anything a little highest is acceptable.

My main uses will be gaming, word processing, watching videos and the occasional image editing.

I have been doing my research (Read GoodBytes guide) and IPS monitors seem the best.

So I put together a shortlist of monitors that I could possibly buy, the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M seemed to be the best in my price range that I could find, but as its got 8ms response times will that affect my gaming?

So basically is this monitor fine for my use, or if not are there any alternatives?

    Thanks in advance
    Shikkari

Good monitor I wouldn't worry about the 8ms

^Agreed. That monitor is great and has lots of nice features available. Don't worry about 8ms, you won't see a difference apart from on a benchmark graph.

Great thanks everyone, I'll buy it tonight. But does anyone know if it will come with the cables to connect it to my graphics card or would I have to buy them separately?

Hi everyone, got the monitor today. I'm so happy with it, just wanted to thank everyone again!

I was wondering, what thread you meant mikeyman? I can't find one about adjusting colours, is it just me?

Anyone know what the warranty term is on Dell monitors? I'm assuming three years?

I'm sure it is. I have a U2711 purchased recently bought from Aria and it's 3 years (albeit 1 yr through Aria then 2 yrs with Dell)
