This is an odd problem ive been having with my pc for a few months Every few hours (varies between 2-6ish) my pc locks up for about 3-4 minutes. The odd thing is my mouse still moves, window contents are whited out. After the 3-4 minutes the pc just carries on as normal. At first i thought i was a problem with opera but its happened when opera wasnt running so i guess it isnt. Ive run a process log and havent noticed anything spiking during the 3-4 mins. I've virus scanned etc. All to no avail! i would just reinstall windows but ive got too much work to do atm. any suggestions (i cant actually get to the pc as its at uni and im home )
First thought that occurs is a power management issue, either within Windows or the BIOS. Try disabling both and see what happens. At least that will rule it out if the problem still occurs.
