Took these pics today while riding around
What do you guys think?
Is that by the Union Building?
Yes it is!!!
While I think that it's obvious that you're putting some thought into the composition of your photos, I feel that they could definitely use some post-processing. They look like they took more thought than a simple snapshot, but the washed out colors make them feel... incomplete.
I hope you don't mind, but I ran the 1st photo through CaptureNX and then added a vignette in CS3, here's what I ended up with(took about 4 minutes):
(If you have any objections, contact me and I'll remove it)
Ya I thought so, I miss the homeland I used to live pretty close from them, in fact you could see my flat from the Union Building.
Wow! That looks SO much better! And you can post crit, obviously! I don't mind at all, it only improves me
Thanks! I'll drop them in PS and see what I can accomplish
Oh wow! That's awesome! South Africa is going backwards pretty fast, I wouldn't advise any one to come stay here, but for a vacation.. This country is DAMN beautiful.
Yeah I love SA. I spent 19 years growing up there.
I really really miss it, I haven't been back since 1999
Hope it starts improving in the near future, I'd love to have a second home there
Hey guys, I need a vote regarding these two photos
Which one will fit the theme "The Golden Hour" the best?
//Thanks for the advice ~Link~ !
Were they shot during the golden hour?
He says these were shot this month in the first post.
Picky picky, Ole - EXIF tells you all.
Yes they were, 12 April just after 4.30PM
@ Major: I wasn't asking whether they were shot this month.
@WiK1d: I was asking because the exposure/PP didn't really tell when I looked at the originals I think for something to fit the theme it needs to well fit it and if they were shot during that time then Bob's your uncle.
I think the 2nd of the two is the best as it's most warm. I applaud that you as well want to submit something that actually fits the theme with an understanding of it. It seems to me like the theme has been hard for most to interpret or elaborate on so seeing you posting this is cool
Oh okay no problem, thank you
But they were shot late afternoon-ish, winter is arriving in SA so the sun sets earlier, you can see that from the long shadows
