Could you photograph it dead on? Right now it's tilted which means the perspective comes out distorted.
When you photograph your drawings (instead of scanning) you have to aim very precisely to avoid tilting the lines. It is especially crucial when shooting two-dimensional objects.

So far it looks really good though!

Dorothea Lange. She did some amazing work for the FSA in the depression. One of my favourite photographers.

Lightiong looks even, so that's OK, but you really need to shoot from dead on, or dead above to avoid distortion. You could correct it it photoshop though using the perspective tool.

    [EDIT]

Arse.. didn;t mea to double post, sorry.

Corrected in PS.. but because you didn't leave any space around the image, it was necessary to crop into it quite harshly.

Much better to shoot from dead on. Get it square in the viewfinder.

Hey thanks Pookey. I do not have Photoshop but I could have photographed it better. And I did not intend to infringe on any copyrighted art or photographs I just wanted to do it as a detail exercise.

Really nice work as always :)

I really like the level of detail in the drawing.
