optical drives doesn't work...

    windows can sometimes lose the concept of optical drives being there.... most of the time if you're using XP, you can use the system restore function and it will go back to recognizing them....


    i've also found that removing the drives from device manager then searching for new hardware to install will fix it as well...

    i've had the experience primarily with my LG dvd drive...

    I've tried the device manager and didn't work... in fact it was the first thing I've done.

    as for system restore, I don't use it... my hdd space is too valuable :D but I keep my backups relatively up to date so that's not too bad... especially since my brother installed FFXI while I was working! :D hehehe
