    Hi all.

I have this problem with my Sata optical drive...
My raid setup is 3 WD velociraptors in Raid 0

My motherboard is an ASUS p5e deluxe with the latest BIOS update.

I added a Samsung optical drive wich also is Sata, but my computer doesn't recognise it propperly, sometimes a can use the drive, but sometimes I can't...
Drivers are up to date, Intel Rapid Storage Tech. is also the latest one.

    Does anyone have an idea?

is it on a seperate set of ports from the 3 raided drives, that may be your issue

    Thanks for answering so quickly

Disc one is on port 0
Disc two is on port 2
Disc three is on port 3

Other WD disc on port 1
and optical drive on port 5

according to Intel Rapid Storage Tech.

    Does that tell you something?

    Does that help??

    I'm amazed...
You never actually believe that it's the cable, do you?
You always suggest it might be wrong with the cable, but never the less it was the cable, and now everything is running as it should.

    Thanks RichCreedy, you rock
