cant afford watercooling, and the whole point of me hunting down a 30capper was because they run cooler... right ?

its a SL6WU, anyway to tell if its a 1.4v version before recieving it ?

How do you find the numbers you're getting on your proc...on the heat spreader or CPU-ID?

you get them by the heatspreader on the chip/laser written stuff. I just got a 3.0 Northwood for 150 at Fry's electronic's in Concord California. It has D1 stepping but i havent checked out the readings on the chip itself, hopefully it is a 30cap :naughty:. Congradulations on your find, hopefully mine as well, will have the results tommorrow, when i finish encoding dvd's.

GunDam ebay is your friend :D do a lot of googling, and a lot of "ask the seller" i got a 30 capper for myself and a friend both from ebay, his cost less (i wish i hadnt found it for him) mines from usa, thats the only drawback so i got 7 days till it gets here. his is from uk.

Overclockers have the 3.2 northwoods, if you go into the store im sure they wudnt mind looking thru their cpu's to see if they got a 30 capper ;) ;)

yea i have a damn 12 cap ( :waah: ), although i should get some nice pc-3700 to oc it (later since i just got it.
    Kind of of topic:
Do you know by chance the stepping thing on other processers.
Ie. my old 2.2B northwood gets to 3.0 easily with stock voltages (readout from the processer Q340A260).
