Hi guys, I've had my P5W DH Deluxe for some time, it's in a p180 so I've never needed to use the boards onboard chassis fan headers (cpu fan works fine).

However I decided to add a front intake today and it didnt spin up
-I've tried several different headers and no luck
-I've tried several different fans and no luck
.....is there something I'm missing here?

    Cheers.

Hate to be obvious, but as no-one else is replying, I'll say it anyway.

It looks as though, yeah, your fan-headers are useless/dead.
Unless anyone knows anything about 'activating' fan headers in an Asus BIOS?

A quick Google didn't bring anything obvious up :(

Edit: Take a look in the bundled Q-FAN program, it's possible (while unlikely) that somehow this is interfering with the power or rpms of the fans connected to the motherboard?
Also, take a look in the BIOS for anything with references to fans or Q-Fan, as they could be disallowing power through the fan headers.

Qfan was my prime suspect too, I've tried it disabled and enabled in BIOS, no joy.

I don't have the actual Qfan app loaded on ym motherboard (i use the asus drivers but avoid the bloatware generally).

I feared it might be dead fan headers :( but is it possibel for the 4 chassis headers to all die while the cpu header is fine?!

It is indeed an odd situation, send an email to Asus and see if they come up with anything.

Other than that, all I can think of is re-enabling Q-Fan and then loading the Q-Fan app into Windows and trying that.
I'm all out of ideas :(

I had a similar issue on an intel board but it eneded up just being a bios setting that was wrong
It gave options to detect fans on boot and this was set to NO
Once changed to detect fans on boot the header worked fine dont know if there is any option like this on an asus board?

Havn't noticed one, but I'm going to reset the bios and see.
