I was just wondering if heat levels of your bios and other such chips on your motherboard would change if you painted them. It's just i find themtotally out of theme with the rest of my case but i don't want to damage my motherboard in any way

    Cheers

mobos have been painted loads of times, there's a mod guide somwhere around here. as for heat one or two light coats shouldn't do much to hurt the chips

If you´re just gonna paint a couple of chips maybe you could find heatsinks in matching colors. That is if you don´t want to experiment with the painting, which prob can be quite risky (depends on who you asks).

Paint shouldn't cause any heat problems as it goes on very thin. Also just make sure that you get a paint that is non-conductive... I don't know if there even is any that are conductive. But you can sure get insulating paint. We use spraypaint that we use on insulators for 44kV.
