Hi, I am interested in password protecting my 1GB flash drive. I am wondering how I would go about doing this. Also, I would like it to be able to work with OSX AND Windows. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

On mac : make a password protected .dmg the size of your flashdrive. Make sure its read/write.

On bouth.. rar/zip ? A bit difficult to use though.

There are specific USB drives that have their own software on them to do it.

When you plug it in it shows up as a little drive, then you run the program and enter the password and it then mounts the main partition with your data on.

One of our contractors at work had one with both an osx app and an exe file on the partition. I dont know what brand it was though.

Nope. It had nothing to do with portable programs.

When he plugged it in it showed an emulated usb floppy with two programs on that unlocked/unencripted the main usb storage.
