My Desktop has been stuck on "Please do not power off your machine. Installing update 8 of 12" for 4 hours now. Is it safe to turn off or will it corrupt anything and trash my windows 7pro install?

Turn your pc off, it's quite safe. Done it many times. When you reboot, Windows will look for the update again.

Yes thanks. I just turned it off and all was OK. I was just worried incase it corrupted something trying to install and caused me problems, but it didn't.
