Displays pc wont connect to monitor

    hi, i have just built my first pc, so need some help with my issue

    AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition 3.6GHz Quad Core Processor

    Biostar TA870 Socket AM3 Motherboard

    4GB CCL Choice 1333MHz DDR3 Memory Stick (two sticks)

    VTX3D ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB Graphics Card

    Case and power supply( 450w) came together

    TP-Link TL-WN781ND 150Mbps Wireless Lite N PCI Express Adaptor

    500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 3.5" Hard Disk Drive

    Sony AD-7260S 24x /RAM Drive

    for a monitor i am using my 37" hd 1080p lcd television

    i have not yet installed the operating system as i can not get my pc to work with my monitor, i have tryed using a vga and a hdmi cable but non of the cables will work. Help

    i am wondering if it could be the motherboard, either i have static shocked it or it just isnt working. as this is my first build it has completly thrown me

    Please help

    Do you have another monitor to test it with? Some TVs won't display any thing if the PC is using a resolution the TV does not support (not even a out of range error, the resolutions these TVs don't support usually includes 640x480).

    Does the system actually power on?

    This could be a simple case of somthing not plugged in on the motherboard or not seated correctly.

    Check 24pin ATX, 4/8 pin ATX (5v), SATA power connectors. You GPU doesn't need external power but double check it is firmly in the PCI-e slot.
