I've found that dropping mobile phones in water doesn't cause much of a problem as long as you give it ample time to dry. However, it's the battery that is usually permanently damaged. My advice, buy a new battery and everything should be fine.

ebay is your best bet for a cheep battery, or if you go into a carphonewarehouse or somewhere like that im sure you could order on, be about £25 tho (i think)

One of my phones got water damaged and it wasn't the battery that was broken, it was the phone itself. You should take it to a Nokia shop if there is one near you, and they can confirm if the whole phone is gone or just the battery. They took mine and told me that it couldn't be repaired...

When it comes to Phones & Water, its usually plain luck wether or not they work after. I would also assume it depends on how much charge there is in the battery. I.E. A Low, nearly dead battery probably wouldn't do much damage, but a fully charged one will probabyl frazzle something.

aye I'm with Phat on that one, Had a mate that droped his phone in a cup of tea and it never worked again, another mate managed to leave her phone in a pocket, and put it through the washing machine 3 times before she found it, after it had dried out it was good as new, clean too!

well i went canoeing with 2 of my phones one was a nokia 3310 and i proceded to practice escimo rolls. and it gor drenched. all i did was t6 screw driver and dismantle it blow the water off with a hairdryer on cold setting and leave overnight infront of a radiator put it together and it worked till i threw it under a car.

seccond was a t68i now i did the same took it apart let it dry overnight and put back together. the sim contacts started to corrode and it died within 3 months so i got a t610 that my sis has now and it has never been near water.

what's the point of bringing a motorola to a nokia shop? :p

they will most likely say it's broken.. get a new one... ;)

(mabye it's better to just get a new phone?)
