Say you had a NV9600 GPU and you wanted to upgrade to the NV260 or the NV280 and you had a tri-sli mainboard.

but what if you didnt have to chuck/sell the NV9600 instead you could make that the cuda/physX processer.

I dont see why it wouldnt work.... it would only be limited by software and it wouldnt take performance away from your main Gpu and CPU.
I do know that you can disable physX after you had enabled it on your gpu....

but not sure if you can switch it to a different GPU...

Ive got the latest drivers installed with Physx support for my 9800. There is a graphics card selection in the physx settings, i only have one card in my computer so i can't confirm that it works. But its there.

    I don't think you'll have a problem.

I don't think that will be a problem either. The latest nvidia driver for the GTX 280/260 is compatible with the G92s aswell. That's what i did to get my physx running. Get the GTX 280/260 driver and use a modified inf file so the installer accepts your cards device id.

I'm pretty sure you can make it work. But i'd wait to hear from a few other guys before putting any money into it.

Edit: Sorry, G94 i guess it is. Works with that too.

Hopefully there will be more games with PhysX support now that ATi/Nvidia are building support in to their hardware and drivers

since there are already such things as physx pci cards why would you want to just use a whole gpu for physx

Because he's already got the card, why waste it and buy a useless PCI card?

Makes more sence then buying a PCI card all round. Then you've got more display ports if you ever need them too.

Even if you were on the look for a new dedicated physx card, At the price of the PCI card, I'd rather buy a similarly priced Graphics card.
