You can't just 'copy' programs, games and drivers from your old install drive to your new one and expect them to work (Especially from XP to 7!!!) It doesn't go like that. You'll have to reinstall them all on your new HDD. If you wanted to retain your old HDD, you should have imaged it, but even then, with all your new hardware, you'd have had a few issues anyway. Best bet, find all the software again and reinstall.
The way drivers were/are implemented differs hugely from XP onwards. The fact you've suggested as having upgraded your RAM to 8GB, since your last build also (should) suggest you've moved to Win 7 x64 - Which would have caused further problems, even if it were theoretically possible to move drivers from a 32 bit XP environment into a 32bit Win7 one. All said and done, Win 7 has a remarkably good catalog of in-built support for various devices; and chances are, if the device you're trying to use isn't even supported in some rudimentary fashion at the very least by the native Win 7 environment, it's probably a really old 'legacy (sort of) device that no longer has official driver support, or is no longer produced. Your best bet is to cart your rig over to your modem/router, and plug it in via ethernet to get drivers for what you can, and use your purchase power to bring your other unsupported hardware up-to-date. Anything that you install will HAVE to be reinstalled. This is due to registary files needing to be installed, which just copying wont create. You can copy your data across, and game saves and the like...
... some people are beyond help. I know you're trying to save yourself a lot of hassle buddy, but what you THINK you're trying to achieve won't work. Bottom line - reinstall everything. Like Pete said, it's the registry thats the issue.. not the files and folders with the software in. Copying software from one machine to another and still being able to run it ceased working with the death of Windows for Workgroups 3.11 ... which was a LONG time ago.
Registry (yes, someone sapelt it wrong!) says no Of course you can't copy program folders to another PC and expect them to work. As Sentinel has said, you sound like you're beyond help. Pick up the Yellow Pages/a local newspaper and give a qualified professional a call.
