My grandson is doing a course on this subject and I said I would ask on here. I know there is another thread on this forum but he wanted something a bit more up to date.

Have told him to research elsewhere.

    Cheers

I vote for the party that aligns most with my views at that time, I couldn't imagine having an allegiance to a single party as the evolve over time. I find it frightening that some people will vote for the same party they (and often their parents) always have.

I have no political allegiance, it ain't a footy match.

People from any party can do good things, they can do bad.

I've never voted Tory but they have never aligned with my views on life. Beyond that it's fair game for my vote so long as you're not a grifter * cough * Farage * cough *

None of them, they're not sportsball teams... making a political party your entire identity is sad, mad, and/or creepy.

    It depends...

Nationally it's such a safe seat my choice barely matters beyond satisfying my own conscience. The vote was more a combo of 'the alternatives are worse' and 'known quantity of idiot' than any whole-hearted endrosement of the candidate.

Locally it is much the same on the 'safe seat, nothing matters' front. However I cannot and will not vote for the current incumbent(s) due to the sheer idiocy they have displayed whilst in power and the monumental self-entitled arrogance of the candidates themselves. As such I vote for whichever party I feel is best placed to oust them and should the party in that position be unpalatable to me I spoil the ballot.

Don't have one. I'll vote for whomever I think will best serve the national interests at that moment.
    Labour.

To get the Tories out. TBF, voting for Satan would be a less morally bankrupt choice than voting Tory, but he had a lesser likelihood of displacing that bunch of corrupt, money-worshipping scumbags than Labour.

That's not to say Labour will be any good, but they'd have to get up REALLY early and practise very hard to be as ****ed-up and the Tory party.

Will things improve? *shrug*... but I'll settle for 'not actively getting worse'...

I was going to do that, but I’m in the constituency for the new Welsh Secretary, Jo Stevens, and I realised there was no way I could vote for her in good conscience.

If I was in a more marginal constituency then that might have swayed me towards Labour. She had a big lead in her previous seat, and our MP under the previous constituency was also Labour and also had a big lead - there was little chance this new seat would be anything but a big win for Jo Stevens. But I couldn’t bring myself to vote for her, so Plaid Cymru it was.
