    Hi guys

recently aquired a sata array to try to resolve my ever growing storage needs.

however Im having pritty poor perfromance so far. topping out at about 30mb/s read/write on a 4 disk raid 5 set.

    hardware setup-

A08U-G2421 eon store infortrend enclosure (512mb cache)
hp 6400 series smart array controler being used as a HBA (512mb cache)
dual cpu athon 2000mp, 768mb memory, 100mb/s NIC.

Any ideas as to what the most likly issue is?

are the speeds local? or are you measuring the speeds over the network?

Indeed, if it's over the network, the 100mbps is the bottleneck
