Well i'm just about to start my first scratch build and i've just done a quick search for which type of pop rivets to use. Frankly i was overwhelmed by the varying types that are available and knowing nothing but the basic principles behind pop rivets i have no idea which would be best suited for riveting aluminium together. I hope someone can give me some suggestions as to which to use and possibly a good place to buy from. (UK only please) Thanks in advance

First you need to figure out how long the rivets need to be. This is simply the total thickness of the materials you want to rivet together. The packets the rivets come in should indicate what thickness they are intended for. Then you need to figure out what cind of diameter you need. This is somewhat determined by the thickness of the materials are, But for a computer case it's not that relevant since the loads won't be very big. Rivets about 4mm dia. should be enough. (Depending on what they are used for, ofcourse) Then there are the aesthetics. If the rivets are visible and the thickness of the materials alow it, you could find rivets with countersunk heads. That will give a neater look. Some rivets even come in different colors. As for finding shops, I can't help you there, but any good hardwarestore should carry several types of rivets. Good luck
