    Hi guys

    On the fence a little bit as what to do. So I turn to you guys for your experience, knowledge and opinions. I am trying to do a poor mans plp with a 17/24/17 setup.

    I am looking at having the dell u2412 or u2410 as the center, both are 1920 x 1200 and 324mm screen height;http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/MONITORS/u2412m/en/ug/about.htm

    and then using a 1708fp (or equivalent) for the sides 1280 x 1024 and 337mm screen height;
    http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/1708FP/en/ug/about.htm

    I am concerned at the height difference and the difference in the number of pixels. The height difference is only 13mm, 6.5mm above and below. and the pixel pitches are very similar (0.27mm vs 0.264mm)

    most people use a 20/30/20 setup with u3011 and 2007fp, they are said to be identical as they are both 1600p however the 2007fp is 7.2 mm taller due to the slight difference in pixel pitch.

    so the real question is has anyone tried this setup or from your experience with plp setup do you think it will work??

    cheers all,

    Rob

    fyi I solved the issue with two 1708fp's and the single u2412 and a triple stand. The whole setup cost me around £350 and I am very happy with it.
