    Hi all

Hope this is the right place -

I am trying to find a 'sensible' desktop printer which will print onto card - specifically this card http://www.paperchase.co.uk/stationery/writing/paper/parchment-vellum-card-220-gsm.html (220gsm, I think it has a thickness around 0.4mm)

My cheap Epson printer which is top loaded just can't do it and I have been struggling to find a clear cut recommendation to a current printer which is currently on the market. I have been directed towards Previous Canon PIXMA models with rear trays but they don't make these anymore.

Also by 'sensible' I was hoping around the £50 mark but tempted to go more if it was also a good photo printer (not that I do much of that at the moment)

So do you guys have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Fused

Most Canons are rated for 275g/m2 or above (even the bottom end MG2450) so I'd give a look in Canon for definite. I've used an ip7250 to print on thick card and I think I used an MX495 at one point as well.

Until recently I'd have recommended my Canon MG5350, as it can take card (not sure of maximum gsm though) and does a good job of photo printing (though does have trouble printing borderless photos if the paper is not totally flat - any bending seems to make the printer head catch a bit and cause light scuffing near the edges).

However, it recently developed an arbitrary 'wrong printer head' fault, which a short session googling suggested to me that it was impossible to overcome and Canon weren't interested, so I haven't used it in 3 months and will have trouble ever considering a Canon product again.
