Well, I'm getting $2100 this summer for a new pc. I fugured i could either go all out newest AMD machine with best everything and mods galore. ...or Get like a A64 3200+, 9800xt, 512 Corsair, and a 36Gb Raptor.(this is later this year though) then upgrade less important things (i.e. 160+GB HD, nicer Case, etc.)as i get more money. Also though i would be able to get a nice In Dash DVD player with that setup for my 01 civic. I figured the best of both worlds, right? So what do you think. Nice computer and DVD in car, or AWESOME computer?
what the hell is wrong with the second come on tis better and cheaper to improve on what you have then get a newer system unless the new system can bolw the old one out of the water for example i had a 486sx till i couldnt phisicly update it no more then i got me a what was the fastest chip on the market at the time a 900mhz amd and the i recently won a 2.0ghz system so i need to save up some money any way 2000 is alot of money you can built a top of the line system for under 700 so why cant you still get the lcd
So what do you think. Nice computer and DVD in car, or AWESOME computer?[/QUOTE] How much is the DVD in car, cause u by far wont need all of the $2100 for the computer if you buy smart
That's a ridiculous statement. You can, by no means, build a top of the line system for $700. Especially not with the specs he posted as the lower-end PC. I say, unless you plan to take a lot of road trips, the DVD in the car is a little worthelss. Sure, it is definitely cool, but how often do you plan on being in your vehicle long enough to watch a full length film? Take the money and spend it on a great system and mod it to your hearts content. The end result will be much more satisfying.
Whatcha think? Panasonic DVD Head unit w/ 7" LCD: $1016 (shipped) Computer as i want if i get mentioned head unit. Athlon64 3000+ 512mb Corsair Asus K8v TT A1838 heatsink Scorpio case w/ 400 watt PS W/D 36Gb Raptor 9800XT PC Total $1087 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-OR-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Athlon64 3400+ 1Gb Corsair 3200LL Pro Abit Max3 whatever its called TT A1838 heatsink Coolermaster PAC-T01 Sleeved Antec True 550 W/D 36Gb Raptor Maxtor DiamondMax9 200Gb 9800XT Bells and whistles
i have a close freind that has a retailers license so i can buy whole sale and get the parts real cheap the new amd 64bit prossessor cost normaly 230 i can get it for under a hundred you have a case and a power supply if not i seen those on the internet less then 20 ram isnt expensive nether is a mother board the only thing that might set you over is the monitor ps when i said a top of the line system i was refering to the pc not the monitor
Dude, I dont think that 1000+ bux is worth the DVD for the car. Go with the top of the line PC and water cool it. Thats would be my opinion.
i dont need a monitor. i have a 2 year old NEC Multisync FE700 and darnit its the best monitor ive ever had. What isnt listed im taking from my current pc over(mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers, printer, CD-RW, DVD) Also i will most likely be getting this dvd player if any: Clarion Pro Audio VR935VD (still only $1000-$1300)
me likes very much so much me thinking about getting one when i win the lotto and re do my old truck look here
I would recommend not buying any new PC's this year as the BTX format is due soon, along with DDR2, PCI Express/PCIX?, SATAver2, etc etc.
Dream Pc, Huge arse moniter ((LCD) a couple of them), NIce speakers(logitec z680), WC (custom made) , Wireless key/mouse (mx900), give the rest to me
IMO wait until the summer, when you actually have the money, before you start spending it! Things move on so fast and im sure youll have different priorities in 4 months time.
Especially with PCI-X hitting the scene you should wait to upgrade, I wish I had but I'm going to upgrade anyways
lol I'm getting £1500 in March 2007 to build a new pc, what do you reckon i should get?? if you dont have the money yet dont worry about what to buy yet mate, newer and better things will be availible by the time the summer comes, just take it easy for now and shouldnt this be in the hardware forum?
all i am asking is should i get both or go all out on a pc. dont even bother to comment on hardware. I know that changes. i know about btx, and pic-x. plain and simple, In your opinion: Is the DVD player worth cutting some small specs here and there? oh yeah, i just went to a local a/v shop and saw one in person . i hope you can all see one before you jump to saying not to get it
$1000 is a hell of a lot for a car dvd player! You can get a 7" LCD on ebay for under $100, buy a dvd player put it in your car, and mod the LCD into your car somewhere. You'll probably save over $700
Get an in-dash system like this : Sexy looking IMO , just buy a 7" LCD and mount it in your car and it will still look awesome, plus save you a ton of money (plus you can say I made this myself )
Im all DIY when it comes to small stuff with my car(installing amp/wiring/head unit) but when it comes to something this big id pay the extra $$$. i dont have anywhere i can put it really. the clarion is the all around best solution for what i want (a dvd player that no one really notices unless i show them[edit]dont want parents to know. they still havent seen the sub [/edit]) Plus i just plain dont want to cut/drill my car any more than i already have for wiring the amp.
