Ok, so I got Far Cry today, installed it, installed the patch, and when I tried to play, I got this.

I have tried reinstalling, i updated videocard drivers, tried the omega drivers, but every time I try to play, I get that message. I disabled error reporting, and when I opened far cry, all I got was the first screen, and then it went back to the desktop. :sigh:

    Anyone have a suggestion.

It does sound like a graphics problem, try a few other games and see what happens. If it does the same, uninstall\reinstall your drivers\card and the game. Also are you overclocking?? Pushing the cpu\gfx card to far could cause the game to crash.

I have the CPU up to 3.6 Ghz from 3.0, and I am not overclocking the video card. I was having the same problem for Call of duty: United Offensive, single player, a few days ago, but that works now. I will bring the cpu back down and see if that fixes it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the video card drivers several times, and I have reinstalled the game once.

I took it down to 3.0, and that did it. The temps at 3.6 were not high at all though, about 30 idle and around 50 load. Thanks guys. :thumb: Great game.
