Case Mod - In Progress Project - Black and White - Update 4 -24th November

Project - Black and White - 1/2/08


Hi all
I’m Dan and this is my first project. I haven’t chosen a name for it yet but I will sooner or later

I don’t have any pics of the old case but I have started on my front.

First I bent a piece of Perspex to she shape of the front, then I cut it to to fit into the hole.

After that I cut a piece of pipe and 2 pieces of Perspex to fit in-between

Then I fitted it into the hole I cut earlier

Then I applied some filler (very messy lol)

After that I sanded it into a curve and added filler to the Perspex.

Then my LED’s arrived


That’s it for today but I will have another update soon.

i think i will go with white on the outside (as it will be sat next to a xbox360 and a hugw white sub) and a black inside.

it will have blue lighting with some crazy idea lol

and it will be watercooled with the res on the side.

 

It would be neat to get a pill shaped Res and put it in the opening in the front.

ive had a grate idea on how to do it but i need to find a way to take the side panle off after.

i will use 2 tubes to make my res and a cover which will be moulded to my side panle and cover the res

the cover will have flames cut out of it and the res might have something spining in it.....

 

neat idea. the was another case with a res similar to that one on here somewhere.

 

what rad or rads shall i use?

i have a 8800GTS graphics card and im thinking of using this block:

the processor is a AM2 and i was thinking of using this block:

but what rad (or even rads) and pump should i use?

i was thinking of this setup:
Res ---> Pump ---> Prosessor ---> Triple Rad ---> Graphics Card ---> Double Rad ---> Res again

would that be a good enough setup?

 

Actually that seems just a tad overkill. if you had it all going through the triple rad at the end, that should suffice.
But I'm not that good with watercooling, so I think I will let some one else tell you about that.

 

id rather have to much than not enough
but the way im laying it out you wont be able to see all the pumps and rads.
ull only see 4 tubes lol

 

ill have an update on saturday (well ill try to lol)
i hope to get either the side panle done or some inside work.

i have found some sheet metal so i can start with the inside of the case
also i did have my pc working till i found out one of the memory sticks doesn't work.
and i have chosen a name - Black and White

 

Awesome. I have one with a similar name one here too. I don't mind.
Can't wait for another update!

 

i vote as it will be next to a Xbox 360, mod it with a theme of the 360. nice green glowing fans in the front with power on button backlite with a red LED.

 

well it will sort of be like that but
i will mod my xbox to match

i am using blue fans and lots of blue led lighting.
i will change the led's in the xbox to blue too lol

im guessing your around about 14 years of age...

every 14 to 16 year old thinks blue LED's and fans are the dogs bullocks.

i dont mean to upset anyone, but if you want your mod to stand out, do something a bit special.

 

I'm 15 and I don't.

 

i just like blue

i think it will stand out as its not only blue but with some uv led's aswell

Heh, I'm 16 and I don't mind blue themes. Sure, they may be a bit overdone. If they are done right, I usually don't care.
