Ok guys.. the other day I saw this guy who had made he's own window.. it was shaped as a dragon.. i instantly got the thought: "i want to do this!" problem was.. my comp. is pretty old (Pentium 2 350mHz.. ) , but it's still good (i don't play games anyway). and worst of all: it was a white case with this old fasioned one piece cover... so.. next day i ordered a new case.. aerocool S202... they did have windows for the case aswell, but i chose the windowless version... after all.. it was because of the custom window i wanted i bought this case in the first place.. originally I wanted a dragon design, but i couldn't find a design that i liked... and my drawingskills is NOT good... but while searching for pictures i stumbeles axross this nice eagle... and i thought: "AHA!" then i started....... bah! enough talk.. on with the pics! this is the case i will be modding... i will post pictures of my window design later... as you can see i have already stelthed the drives.. it was done when i was putting the stuff inside the case... white drives..
ramelair: soon, my friend, soon! i will post it later... acrim: that thing is my first self designed circuit! the box/stand is made from scrap pieces of brass tubing (after making this ) and some 1" (i think) chopper rods.. i got it for making an IC-desoldering iron... i ended up using brass on that one though.. Dragen: the S201 is grey i think... it doesn't have the bubble tubes on the sides..
ok.. took a pic of the paper cutout on the side panel... the light conditions wan't too god.. but you all get the idea...
thanks for the comments guys! ok.. i'll give you some more eye candy... you know... suddenly i get a new idea... you know the front window.. the one wich changes color... the whole lower part is one piece EXEPT those damn floppy bays... well.. what if i just made a new faceplate? and instead of the original logo i put in something like this: mabye i'll go for a different shape in the front.. i just tested it out on an old cd cover.. i tried to get the feather structure aswell.. didn't turn out that bad.. also: i changed the activity LED today aswell... the red was barely visible.. so i put in a sunbeam LED... looks better now..
just finished cutting.. have glued on the plexi now.. . i'll post pics tomorrow.. i can't to night because my network card died... damn lightning!!!
ok guys.. finished with the window now... lots of cutting, filing and sanding later i have this: sorry about the backround of the window... i had written the pinout for the com port on my desk.. and spilled rubbing alcohol on it.. i was going to paint the cuted edges black aswell... (prewent rust) but i forgot it!! i was way to tired last night... i might have to take of the plexi again (glued with silicone!) and paint it... but that have to be later... tomorrow i might start on the front panel...
Hmm when i first looked at project ithought it was gonna be a messy looking Eagle cut out but actually that came out Perfect. Nice n Smooth Good work ill be looking for Future Mod Pics
