Well i it's time to build again,so i will keep it short as poss. As an avid Elder Scrolls player over the years,i thought i would use a dragon theme in the build. I'll be keeping my current hardware till some good stuff comes out. Current specs. Asus P67 Pro 580 GTX I5 2500k 60 Gig Vertex boot Drive 750 Samsung 16 Gb OCZ Ram PSU AX1200 30'' Dell Currently using my home-made Bench test Station while i plan and work on new build. Here it is My old case. Sadly i had to pass my old TJ07 on to my brother as a xmas pressy,He needed it more than i did. So i bought a Lian Li V2000 from a friend from WCUK (Thanks ACE) I always liked the size and space this case can hold. This is what i got of him. Looks better in this photo. So first thing was to cut out the parts i won't need and leave a frame to work with. I know,it does look severe This is the latest stage of my build, untill next time Andy
Nice to see you here Andy. I totaly understand about the hardware, new stuff, does seem to be a bit slow to put inside cases at the moment, and when it does come out, its hard to justify the 0.0000000001% performance increase if you do get it. Well to me it doesnt look severe as i know what you are capable of doing. I`m surprised you didnt build the frame aswell though. Looks like youl be doing alot of Lasering, machining etc etc Will be watching .
thx guys, much better here at the moment. Ok another little update, minus a few photos that were lost during the build.Grrr I made the top and bottom panels and stuck them to the frame with J B Weld. test fitted my quad XSPC as well. Sadly i got no pictures of the front,PSU and back panel after they were cut,but i have with them fitted. The front panel will not be removed so i have, screwed it to the frame and filled the holes,to give a flush finish. Here is the front,PSU and back. You can also see the frame that i fitted around the edge, which will hold my new side panels on. Next i cut and folded my drivebay panels, which will house the pump/res. The panel on the right was only a test piece,as i'll be cutting a Dragon in the final version. Next i cut my mid section, with holes for the Slim Blu-ray drive.I will cut holes for cables and tube ,when i fit my hardware. That's enough for today Andy
Awesome start, Case-cut to pieces-rebuild. love the way u went to frame and rebuilt, such a nice way to do it... look forward to more, love dragons too, down a dragon mod to my ps3, that might come on here eventually. keep it up man.
The metal work is excellent, maybe too many dragons for my taste. Imho If you repeat a same pattern or logo it makes it look "too much". Keep it up!
Thats exactly what I was thinking as I scrolled down through the pics...lol Looking good so far, an interesting twist on a classic case. I actually prefer these to the TJ07.
Thanks For the feedback guys. I didn't bother building the case from scratch,as i ain't got that much time. Small update. I fitted the drivebay panel,to test pump location. then placed the cover panel on.I'll be using a different bay panel to this. I fitted a spare mobo,my PSU and the Thermochill 480mm Quad Radiator that i got from WCUK member. Thanks Aaron. It's got a little dent but was a bargain buy Here you can see the mobo will sit flush on the mid-section.Cable holes will be drilled when final fitting is done. Till next time Andy
Just a little update on the drivebay. I got the dragon cut and placed some red frosted acrylic behind it.This will be lit up buy some leds, when finished. That's it Andy
