I know the images dont work. Its on my list of things to fix:)

Ever since I had my AMD athlon 1.2 266 fsb processor I wanted to over clock and liquid cool. Although my early attempts at over clocking were met with limited success :wallbash: i started my self down the extreme cooling road.

My early setup was a CPU FX cpu cooler, a custom home made res/submerged pump setup.

I got a little braver got a dremel :dremel: and started moding that giant tower, I put in a side and top window and created a custom mounting bracket for the psu and radiator and painted the inside black.

At this stage the cooling system is:
Danger Den Maze4 adapted down to 1/4 tubing, Koolance chipset cooling, Koolance GPU cooler, A moded in Koolance pump/fan control board and koolance display into a floppy bay, koolance pump/res and a Black Ice pro Radiator.

Ever since I discovered the XP-M barton (here at bit-tech :thumb: ) and how well they over clocked I got an itch to do some extreme cooling! I bought a ThermoChill 120.3 Radiator, coldplate for my maze4, a 226w pelt, and tygon tubing at DangerDen.com. I am currently waiting on my Enermax PSU to arrive from newegg.com along with my XP-M 2600+

The Enermax PSU is something special, it has a 33amp rating on the 12v rail.

On the top you see i have one nice fan grill with two ugly fan grills. I am making my own custom fan grill in turbo cad and I am going to have a local machinist mill them up for me.

Here is a look at my cooling system.
I made my own reservoir out of 1/4 plexi. The pump is a ViaAqua 300gph
The Danger Den Maze4 is just dangling there waiting for its Barton to cool.

The PSU's will be stacked. I have wired up a relay system so when the main psu it fired up by the mobo it activates the relay that starts the pump and secondary psu.

I will post an update once i receive the rest of the parts.

make sure you use dieletric grease and neoprene dont want condensation killing any expencive chips :thumb:

Get rid of that ugly purple plastic fan holder on the back of the case

that will help the insides look a tad better...

    Welcome to the forum!

Nice looking case you got there, that red light seems to be pretty strong, I like it. :hehe:

    Reporting back...

Either my Barton mobile is DOA OR my kt600 doesn’t like it.... although i did forget to reset the bios and my core v was a 1.8v but the processor was WELL cooled when it got that voltage.

that brings me to my next point.... why with a 226w pelt is my cpu running at 71f full load?! my best guess is that a 226w pelt requires about 170-180w @12v I have found a source for a TRUE 246w at 12v pelt, should i jump on that?

one more thing.. Danger Den does not supply instructions nor can I find a good site that has instructions on applying the neoprene. so i am left with condensation.... going to buy some closed cell foam tomorrow and fix it….

How bad is it for me to use the jumper trick on my brand new $80 Enermax PSU?

*Finished mod pics tomorrow. Check back*

    :duh:

Got the CPU all insulated up, my Via aqua DIED so I moded back in my old Koolance pump/res. I dint loose much performance... performance wasnt that great anyway!!!!!

Water runs in reverse direction, through the GPU,chipset, then cpu block.

No need to be nasty or anything but imo the case is really untidy. What you should do is get some sleeving on those PSU's and maybe spray the silver one black. Also there's alot of cableage around your HDD's, maybe you could turn them round and also, not sure about the layout of your case but try and stick the cables behind the motherboard tray so all your mess is on the other side of the case.

Looking nice I bet that thing keeps your system cold. Defiantly needs some cleaning in there though. :thumb:

Ordered up a speed strip for my barton.

320w pelt (246@12v) is on the way

Thinking about moving my entire system over to an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe for over clocking and to hopefully get my &$&$ Aqua mark scores up! 19,761 is the best score it will give me…..

I have been tweaking and reading stuff online for the last few hrs trying to figure out whats wrong with my system other than i was an idiot and dint get an nforce 2 board.

I have checked all bios settings, ie. Fast write, agp 8x ect ect.

While trying to see if my corsair XMS 333 could run at 400 mhz i uped the latencies from 2-3-3-6 to 4-4-4-8 and brought them down slowly until it wouldn’t boot, it settled at 2-3-3-7 prime 95 stable for last few hrs. I got minimal performance boost in aqua mark by having both the cpu and ram at 400 mhz

is my ram OC a good 1 or not, is the diff from x-x-x-6 to x-x-x-7 a major loss in performance? BTW i did not change the voltage of the ram.

    waiting on more parts.

Looking into getting a new pump. What would you recommend?
any ideas on why my system gets such poor results in aqua mark?

Anything you can do to tidy up the insulation around your cpu?

A word of advice if i may. If you are looking for a new mobo then i strongly suggest you look at the Abit NF7/-S and the DFI Lanparty/Infinity. the DFI boards are great for giving a high fsb overclock (which it looks like you will need as you have a locked cpu?)But of course you will also need some fater ram to make the most of the new board (pc3700 should do it). The abit boards are Alot better in the cpu department. They have better voltage regulation which allows for a higher cpu overclock but will not relly give you as high fsb speed.

In your case my instinct tells me to go with DFI as fsb is a big factor in benchmark scores (second to the gfx card in Aquamark of course) and as you are using extreme cooling and a locked cpu you are going to need a v high fsb to make the most of your cpu.

Your current ram o/c sounds very good and timings have very little effect on your overall score so dont worry about them.

Pump wise i would recormend a Swiftech MCP600 or Dangerden D4 (the D4 can be overvolted for more performance but is noisey). You could also consider a Danner Mag3 or Eheim 1250 or eaven a Hydor L30/35 depending on your budget :thumb:

I also have a Barton 2600+ mobile :naughty: that wont even post in my current board. (works in my sisters board (a7s333 sis chipset) but it wouldn’t clock any faster than 800 mhz :confused (probly needs updated bios. at least the cpu isn’t DOA). The speed strip I have ordered should unlock my cpu, it was produced before super locking started happening. Im going to see how fast the non-mobile Barton 2600+ cpu goes in the kt600.

Ill check newegg on that abit and DFI board, if it has SATA raid ill probly get it and build a secondary gaming machine out of the remaining parts. :

Got the Speed strip and 246w (TRUE WATTAGE @ 12v) peltier.

Speed strip failed to unlock my processor... maybe i have some dielectric grease not closing the connection?

my koolance pump CANNOT cope with the heat load in the system.. DUH :duh:

Current cpu at 77*F with an 81*F (27*C) ambient temp.... water block surface is at 108*F. I cant get a thermal probe in contact with the copper base.... my guess is its at 115*F.

Looking at getting a pair of these pumps from: C-Systems

Cool little pumps that i hope to try out soon.

to check out a good review on these pumps click HERE

..... my luck and wallet are running dry... billing cycle for last month CC is over and paid.. LETS SEE WHAT I CAN DO THIS MONTH :worried:
