hi this is my project. basically i wanted a trick looking 210 watercooled-had to be self contained so far: http://www.backspace.fsnet.co.uk/CaseGallery/LeafSide.JPG a Water jet cut window. waterjet cutting works by using a EXTREMELY hig pressure fine jet of water and\or tiny abrasive particles. I found a place to cut it near me by using www.kellysearch.co.uk. you need a CAD file of the image u would like cut blue perspex added: http://www.backspace.fsnet.co.uk/CaseGallery/BlueLeaf1.JPG Lit up with 2x cold cathodes (blue perspex wasnt fitted at this time) i said earlier this was to be a watercooled pc, well i found a item i simply 'must have'. its a res, i bought it from www.aqua-computer.de in germany (they only accept bank transfers) .It took 3 weeks to arrive...but was i impressed when it did! the quality is astounding, only problem is that the maxium size barbs they do is 10mm (3\8")...im using 1\2" or 12mm for everything else. unfortunately its not as easy as buying some 1\2" ones coz they used a iregular thread type and size, step in the top bloke coolerman. hes making me some custom 1\2" 90degree barbs out of brass. it also lights up the water blue!: http://www.backspace.fsnet.co.uk/AquaTubeBl00.JPG
heres one of the barbs fitted: the ideal place for the res is in the top blowhole! http://www.backspace.fsnet.co.uk/CaseGallery/CM210SideOn.JPG http://www.backspace.fsnet.co.uk/CaseGallery/CM210DoorShut.JPG i decided on the below to complete the WC system: P4 maze3 Chrome Blackice Xtreme Enermax 120mm clear bladed fan speed adjustable Eheim 1048 pump 8' of 12mm tygon tubing most of this was imported from the states. heres a pic:
so far thats about it, done some little touches like 80mm atomic lazercut grill on the rear exhaust fan (silent ys-tech)......blue thumbscrews for the back of the case.....got some blue UV reactive dyelite for the water......a UV & Blue cathode + 2x inverters..........i removed the 2x front usb cables (get in the way of pump mounting) and covered the plate which holds um with carbon fibre film, so insted of seeing 2 ugly usb connectors from the front now u see 2x sexy carbon fibre rectabgles........and a cleverly mounted hardrive so the rads airflow doesnt get blocked. its held in place with 2x thumbscrews with gromets and a length of blowhole trim to isolate from case ( espically proud of that mod ) waiting on a decent p4 mobo so i can get the computer set up and finished, well i say 'finished' it will never be finished as i will add kewl trick bits&mods all the time, but this is the orginal idea completed, i love it so far what do u recon?
that looks totally 1337! i think i prefer it when the door is open... i've never really like the acrylic door on the 210s any fan controls on the way? what about an etch to mimic the veins on the leaf? keep it up Alaric.
I'm not a big fan of drugs but this case looks really clean. Where are you going to mount the rad? Where yo placed it or next to the hdd facing the front? Thanks for the link to kellysearch, it will be useful in future projects
i do to theres only gonna be 3x fans in the case: 1x silent ystech 80mm 1x pci exhust blower (silent) 1x 120mm enermax already speed adjustable so not much point havng a baybus, i dont like um anyway thinking bout it where it is thankyou for the compliments gents
i'm with mashie about the drugs thing, but it looks good so who am i to talk? what are your feelings on a green window or a clear window with etched veins as someone (sorry, i forgot) suggested, and then lit from the side with green leds like some of the stuff on metkumods? that would be pretty rad.
did u cut a whole in that drive cage for the raditor air to blow through??or are u gona atleast raise it up a tad or make some slots in the metal......or maybe a duct to the outside.....
That has given me a great idea for radiator mounting in my 201 Lay it like that and duct air in from a drive bay and out the front blowholes.
totally mingin mate top work, wanna see the finished article oh and welcome to the forums Iver, do I know you?
a freind from overclockers. u may have seen her on faceparty, or wherever else she likes to pimp herself back to topic
Agree with Mashie here, But you are doing some sweet work there d00d, nice and tidy, Oh, Choice exelent on the Aquacomputer.de kit, some nice gear you got going
can you tell me or how to contact the coolerman guy to get the barb? i also want the aqua computer kit to start on my 210 (mine's green instead)
I've got an idea here for your resevoir. Since it's metal, it'll conduct heat very well, so attach a peltier to the bottom so that the cold side is touching your resevoir. Then attach a heatsink and fan to the other side to remove the heat from the peltier. That way, you'll be cooling down your water below ambient (hopefully). Mind you, you'll need a pretty powerful HSF combo to to dissipate the heat from the peltier and from the water. I'd personally suggest a peltier of no more than 80W. Whatever, just a random idea I came up with. Thought you'd enjoy.
