Hi Guys, Im planning on bulding an acrylic case from scratch, with tainted windows and interior normal leds and uv leds . Here are the projects i made in sketchup3d ( pay no attention to details cause it was my first time using this proggie  ) :
this is de case without the etching
    [IMG]
this is the case with the images i want to use as etches

Now, the front image im thinking of laser printing it cause it rocks so damn much  ; the side ones , ill just laser carve the text an maybe the countours of the drawings.
Im having doubts where to put the etching of this image:
and maybe leave the cable socket out and use a real socket to plug into the mouth opening .
Also, im planning to carve the symbols using a dremmel and give some or everyone of them a specific function, like some are going to be used as buttons on the rheobus ill build for the pc and other for the on/off switch . This last one , i think ill have 3 dferent symbols we have to push so as to turn off/on the pc :naughty:

Thats all i have for now, what do u guys think? any suggestions or comments are very welcome :dremel:

lol, I also thought for a sec that it was Neo :)

But I guess a Serial Experiments Lain PC would be cool, I'll be looking forward to it.
(her room with the comps and stuff reconstructed....now that would be  )

Amazing, I love the last picture^^

I'm worried a little about airflow. I think you will make some holes in the front panel for the airflow. You could use the top panel for exhaust fans, but the ones getting the air into the case...

Anyway I would put the mobo in vertical position, I think the case is tall enough (I supose by the pics that you're mounting the mobo horizontaly), then it will be room enough to have the airflow bottom --> top (a pair of conraid 172mm fans  ), and a nice wc setup :D

    Good luck

Edit: Btw... SE Lain is extremly extrange xD, but I like it. Wolf's Rain for the next one?

lol actually that last pic is an original drawing by the creator of that particular anime .
I was thinking of maybe etching that contour on the top and drill a fan hole to exaust hot hair while using one or two other holes on the back for air in-take :D

yes SE Lain is a weird anime  but man those computers described on it rock so hard

Regarding the mobo , i as thinkink of using an acrylic gride suporting the mobo, so that i could use the cd drives and disk drive ( althpugh i might consider remving it from the computer at all ) on the top and stealth then with the rectangular piece of symbols, and use the hdds and cpu on the bottom so as to cool them with the rear fans i mentioned.

ill try and keep updates guys, ty for the support

PS - i should have mentioned earlier, its a kind of fun project cause , well , i think WC is too much for my crappy computer : (CPU - Intel Pentium III, 731 MHz, 256KB ) ¤ Mem:128MB SDRAM . So, i think WC will be a waist of money and time. or am i wrong? should be fun trying WC as i have no experience of usning/mounting WC systems lol
