    thanks

    UPD !!!!!!!

    (sorry, but bad UPD)
the motherboard has failed BIOS, because of stupid VIA bug in BIOS 1.16.
I will send it back and should get another. hope soon....

I still hesitate between buying barebone PSU. which can be small, but expensive
or using modded normal PSU that I already have, but a bit larger.... :wallbash:

I think you should go for one of those DC-DC power supplies with the external "brick". They're pretty tiny, and being rated at around 60W should run fairly cool. Having said that, I'd be interested to see what you'd do with the standard ATX supply...

since next month I will go to a trip in France...
untill then I wait for the mobo...

Well my mini-ITX case with external power brick only ran about $80, but then outside of the US you tend to get much higher prices for comp parts. My vote went to dc-dc psu, however modding a normal one would be very interesting. You could probably have it open case and fanless and not have problems unless you manage to short something.

    actually that's what I did

i desoldered all mosfets and placed them on an external Heatsink
capacitors were soldered and layed on their side to reduce the height.
total height is not more than the main transformator of the PSU
it's nice, but has a big PCB, and of course nothing to compare with a DC-DC small PCB...
I think that for 65EUR I will buy that 200W DC/DC which is decent enough

    THIS IS NOT DEAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    UPD Time !!

    EPIA M10000 isn't back yet,
but maybe I will use another mobo, like COMELL LV-667 which is more modern than the EPIA (Has 3 IEEE1394, 2 LAN, 6 USB, 2 SATA etc....)
so at the mobo level, it should be established within a week or 2....

I thought about the power indication lights....
I'll be using special OFLCL (Optical Fiber LED Canon Lights)

Blue will be for the POWER indicator
    Red for the HD activity
    Green for the LAN activity

I guess these are 0.5mm fibers, or even a bit less....
I have to get much stronger resistors, so the LEDs will be brighter.

Casing design ant building will be continued when the mobo arrives...

i assume ur going to jumble these different colors up in the end? cuz if u got like 6 different colors, each showing different kinds of activity, then mixed them all up , but had them all flat against a piece of flexi it would look so cool to see them all moving at different times, kinda like a lil light show.
