This mod is inspired by the incredible series written by Alan Moore back in 1982. Miracleman was similar to DC's Shazam. He was a young reporter who was given great super powers through atomic energy. Speking the word ATOMIC backwards: written as "KIMOTA" is what transformed him into Mircleman.

The series gets very dark. It touches on mass genocide by super heroes and the idea that we may not be alone in this universe.

The victim case is the Cooler Master HAF XB.

But first it needs to be stripped to the bone

Then blasted with a bright sail boat blue

    Bottom

    and top

The front panel metal mesh will be blue too

Going to follow this one with real interest as I've recently acquired one of these cases. Only change I've made to mine though was to fit a 200mm fan in the roof.

Did you mask off the rubber feet, if not, has the paint taken to the rubber okay, or had any reaction ?

I'm guessing you're going to replace the CoolerMaster badge with a MiracleMan logo ?

I wanted to do two 120mm fans on each side, but they won't fit

So I'll do 92mm fans instead (I'm not using the grills, they're just for reference)

    Time for my hole saw

I cut two fan holes and the mesh on each side for windows

I just want to see how it looks, so I put the mesh back on. Yep, that looks stupid!

That odd looking honeycomb looks even worse

So it has got to go!

    Now it's Red!

And so is the PSU shroud

And just about anything that's not already blue.

I suggested orange and that red isn't all that far away.

Comic theme? Check. Alan Moore? Check. Somewhat ugly case out of the shelf that must be modded? Check. Subscribed? Check.

While the red paint dries we go dress up the blue chasis. First I put the hot swap bay PCB back in

On to the cooling. The Cooler Master XB only comes with two 120mm intake fans, but I want 140's instead

I'll be using Aerocool Blue LED Sharks

And I put the tooless clips back on

I really don't want to see the stickers through the fans through the mesh, so I'm taking them off

I put the motherboard tray back in

And then a rear 120mm Blue LED exhaust fan

There's also another two 80mm Blue LED fans going on the back by the drive bays

Lastly, the slots cover go back in.

Next time we'll look at the side panels

With the grills left in place the fans in the rear of the case will produce an awful lot of noise. It's allways the first thing to do, to cut out the honeycomb there.

    Nice colourscheme tho ;)

I'll address that, with an inline resistor

I put the top piece is dry

And so is the PSU cover

The drive bay covers are done as well

Now I have to paint the side panels

It took 3 strip downs all the way to the metal for it finally to stick. This was a really annoying process, but it's finally done

Now it's time for some custom fan grills

I'm using an all plexi top

And using rivets to hold it in place. I put tape over the tip of the rivet gun so I don't accidentally scratch the paint

I got this custom applique from CrazyPC (I still need to remove the bubbles)

    KIMOTA!

I had custom Miracleman logos cut out of aluminum by Rapid Creek Cutters

I'll be using a regular 92mm grill as the base

Next I give everything a couple of coats of red

    Looks awesome

I'm gonna go with just two screws or each fan

Then a Bondo/epoxy to bond them together.

I still needed to add the glass on the side panels

I'd actually like to do a couple more things, but there are time restrictions I'm under by the person getting the case. So, I am done.....I guess
