it's been said but it must be said again, this whole project is just awesome, i expect you to win something in the competition
The project is on the home stretch now; I figured I’d show a few progress pics of the internals before I reach the finishing stages. I received the final parts back from the painters tonight…I’ll hold you all in suspense Consider this update dedicated to Da Dego who has been PMing and telling me to get my butt into gear In preparation for the front bezel coming back, I got the case riveted back together. I previously used self-tapping screws but the bezel wouldn’t fit as the heads were too big. Pop Now the internals, after getting the loop up and running I tried a couple of UV dyes before finding the perfect one. I first ran a mixture of BlueMotion and Blue revealing dyes but as you can see, it failed to match the cable sleeving. I decided to try something with a darker shade; I drained the loop and filled it with some fresh water. I then added some Dark Blue UV Dye from Coolercases, it only took a couple of drops and the water had change to an awesome colour. I let the system bleed motherboard side down, once the pump intake hose below the reservoir intake hose solved the problem of frothing water right away. Here are the pictures at the current stage, I nabbed the Graphics department tripod for the weekend so they should be better than usual You’ll have to newly painted bits and bobs and the untidy cabling. Full on shot from the top. From the side. From the left side. and when the lights dim down… As you can see, the new UV dye matches the internals much better Zoomed in slightly. Side shot. Zoomed in again. Here’s the lit up top section of the case. There’s another 2 UV cathodes mounted at the top to make the UV Perspex on the top panel glow The Aquatube is fitted with a white LED but as the water is blue, it provides a nicer colour than a plain blue LED That’s all for now, updates will be on a regular basis now as the project is drawing to a close Until then, mod on
Very nice project. Glad to see some more with bigger bore tubing, that 1/4" has no character IMHO. Just a suggestion that I would consider, the hose going to the inlet on your pump seems to block alot of your hard work put into the water blocks. Maybe look at running it down low towards the back of the case then up to where you can see more of your highlights. Like I said, just a friendly suggestion. Mod on!
Cheers for the kind comments Very good point, when getting all the tubing attached I tried all sorts to make it look tidier but there were no other places it could go. Thinking about it now, I should really have mounted the pump somewhere differet, I'm happy with it though. Cheers with the suggestion Keep the comments coming peeps
w00t! Yaay updates! Looking terrific, Leeum. Very nice attention to detail with all the little white LEDs! I cant' wait to see what's happened to the front bezel, as it tends to be my least favorite part of these cases. But I'm sure you've got something terrific in mind for it!
Or while he's high? lol j/k leeum dont murder me! i must admit, the suspense is killing me.... its so... unfair!
I suppose.... but damn this is too sexay... i just want to see it so i get a splurge of inspiration (and somethign else) so i can get to work on mine again! ive hit like a point where if i dont see this my mod will never be completed... jokin'!
LMAO, nice little discussion been going one while I've been away! Thanks for all the comments. All will be revealed very soon Da Dego! Just to let you know...I finished the case tonight and I'll be taking the finished photos tomorrow while I have the tripod It may be mid next week before they're posted though, I've still got alot of updates to show. Sit tight
