Everyone is doing cubes nowadays... So i rebell! Or to be honest: I would do a cube if i had the money to buy new hardware small enougt to allow for a cube. Now i will just put old stuff in it. First i went to Clas Ohlson (a big swedish DIY warehouse) and bought the alu profiles and bolts. 4 x 1.3m profiles and _many_ M3 nuts and bolts. Then of to the (dont know the word) "glass shop" and ordered: 2 x 32x42cm 2 x 42x17cm 2 x 32x17cm 4mm Lexan sheets. The glass shop wanted 650:- (70€) for the sheets, isnt that a bit expensive? Then i fixed a drive rack. Four old pieces of alu i had at home (in my "will come to use some day" box) got some holes drilled, and then bent (by hand, so that why the result is so bad). Next on the list is to cut up the profiles.. Im thinking over how to do this with the least amout of waste. How to have the corners meet is also something thats under planning and will be the next step. Project is DEAD. Hardware is killed... Plexi and lists will be used for a new project, watch out for it!
looking good so far! At my local store the Blue Acrylic I used cost me $67AUS per square metre and I used less but for the amount you got that'd cost $35AUS so seems a bit over priced for me.
70€ seems a bit much to me. But of course you went to a glass shop, which makes it a bit more expensive and you had it cut to size as well. Besides that, we're talking about Lexan, which is slightly higher prices than just plain acrylic (plexi).
still it's not that much more and cutting to size doesn't cost me anything but whatever. Can't wait to see the project futher along
noCode ! Gl with this little tiny thing ! " om du behöver ett tips eller så skrik till " and a translation to the line " if you need a tips or so just scream "
