I'm working on a small Chieftec Dragon midtower mod. Here are some pictures. It's about 40% complete... And here are more pics, on my website... Project TURBOSNAIL And, sorry, it's slow, I haven't better hosting.
Nice work, chap. How did you go about removing those sections of the grill off the front of the case?
Thanks for answers. 2 KrazyIvan: no, it's only 20x4 character display witch Hitachi HD44780 compatible controller connected on LPT port. 2 Theo: I cutted off the "grills" with drill, fret-saw and file. and the border arround LCD is from 10mm plexi. 2 all: sorry for my english, I'm student and I'm still using dictionary...
What software are you using to control the LCD? I could never get mine to display that large of a font.
Oh, I also forgot to ask what you are using to mount the LCD. It looks like you have miniture handles "a la rack mount server style"
Yeah, but what are the little vertical bars on each side? They look like they hold the whole frame in place.
These are only about 1mm steel wires from dad's garage, bended to desired dimensions... And painted of course (but unlucky not so good I wanted, because my paint run dry).
OK, after long long break, I'm back and continue modding my Chieftec . Today I have bought some plexiglass sheets (3mm, blue and bright). I made electronics for new fan regulator - with 4 independent channels (using LM317 stabilisators) with switching off when the knob is in 0% - left position. I'm working on light control panel. I also painted the "middle part" and case "foots" of front with silver paint. In planning: - painting the "skelet" of the case on light blue metalic color - maybe making plexi window in the PSU - tidiing and sleeving all cables Hope, will have digital camera next week and take some pics.. BTW: I bought one 20x4 LCD with blue backlight, but it doesn't work .
