Since I finally "finished" my first case, now my wife wants one done for her. So I got her this one.

She wants it done in a unicorn theme and purple.
So I plan on doing a unicorn window cut out and will paint it a better purple than what it came with.
I've already done the window and started with the paint.
    More pics to follow.

weecheeee *makes whip cracking sound* sounds like your wife's pretty good at making you do things around the house eh? :D just joking...cool case though although from the pictures it looks like it already does have a purple kinda hue? what colour were you going to paint it?

dunno if anyone's tried but there's that one kind of paint that you see on aftermarket sports cars? i think they call it chameleon paint or something and it changes hue from the angle which you view it at? i think alienware had a laptop with that option of paint on their website awhile ago? dunno but thought that would be cool to try out on a case.

Saw the mirage paint at Autozone but the wife prefered the "anodized look" purple.
As far as lighting, I've got a lot of ideas floating around but I haven't made a final decision on it yet will be something bloo though.
Thanks for the compliments, this is my first try at an intricate window, don't think it turned out bad though. Still got a lot to do with the paint, wet sanding and all.

Old '78 Mustang King Cobra. My first car. One of those projects that never get finished. Plan on putting it back the way it was when I was 16. Might get back to it one of these years.

Yeah. 302 ci. 82k. I'm 2nd owner. Work doesn't allow for much extra time these days. Hard to get the case mods done too. Get just a few hours each weekend.

The unicorn is from a picture the wife had. Magnified with a copier and used it for a template. It was done with a dremel, used cut off wheels to rough it out, then used the diamond coated wheel, it's very thin and semi flexible to get into small places. I run a machine shop so I was able to use some very small carbide bits in the dremel to get at the really tight spots, then finished it up with jewelers files.

O.K. Got a little time on my hands. So now I can get a little more done on this case. Did more work on the paint. Sand blasted the panels, they didn't come out to my satisfaction the first time. They look a little better now. Painting is mostly done. Just have to put on a few coats of clear and some sanding in between. Will post more pics tomorrow.

This might be a silly question, is that case steel or aluminium, and also how did you paint it and what type of paint.

    nice job btw.
