OK ive decided to do some work on my antec plusview 1000

The case is pretty tidy to start with, but I wanted to remove the door and tidy up the bay area.





Started of with this.


And ended up with this




First painted cd drive to match case


Cut holes in bay cover for rheobus, backlit with blue leds


Backlit case badge, cut a square piece of plexi and a blue led behind.


Hard drive and power LEDs, got the same treatment, this time cut out a circular piece of plexi, backlit with the power LED on the right and the HDD activity LED on the left. (the swith in the middle is for the cathodes)


Moved Power and reset switches to the USB port on the front (has a little flap that covers them)


The piping down each side is copper piping bought from Focus DIY £2.50 for 2m





Still a lot to be done, but at least its a start.

I tried a test piece but wasnt too sure if I liked it or not.

Managed to get a good shine on the copper by using a brilo pad and rubbing gentley.

Pics dont show it too well though.

Will be reworking a lot of this at some point, this is more of a test run, trying out some idea's.

Ill try them painted, got a fair bit to play with anyway.

Mind you I quite like them, they look better in real, the webcam doesnt help.

 

I'm "babysitting" one of these cases for a friend right now

They are cool cases, seem to have a lot of modding potential. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be around for long if he came back from holiday to find me modding his case

Does anyone have an original mod?

Make a thread, post original mods you thought of and no one else has done... I can think of 4 for myself...

 

It's not that I don't like the copper! I just think the case would have better 'flow' to it with more copper to go with the bars...but like you said it's a work in progress, play with lots of ideas!

As far as having ideas that are original, Bliss was inspired from the Culance project.. I just tried to add my own original mods and I think I have some that does make the case stand out a bit..hopefully anyway! There are ideas I didnt use... maybe one day!?


If someone gets inspired from something I did, more power to them. It worked for me, it will work for someone else!

Yip looking sweet matie. The copper piping looks pretty sweet.

Come over to my bit and pick up the works digicam if ya like. If I bring it into work they will just want it back

OK ive now painted the horizontal bars the same colour as the case to see how it look.

What do you think.



Im still not too sure.

This was them just plain copper


But as said earlier this is a work in progress, ill be playing around with a few ideas before finally comiting.

Will be doing a top window later as well.

Can't really see in that light mate but can use imagination...sure it looks good...I just bought a aluminum sheet and steel grill for my Antec....hmmmmm

Will be buying some plexi, some dark blue or black window tint, and a couple of vandal resistant switches.
