    what do you call the normal non hdmi cable with the three connections on the end, yellow white and red

    can you connect this and the hdmi at the same time and run the sound through the non hd cable and connect to your speakers?

    I have a similar monitor

    i have my setup as follows

    PS3 -> HDMI-> Monitor -> 3mm jack cable (line in)-> PC -> 3mm jack cable (line out) to speakers

    requires me to have my pc on whilst using my PS3, but i would have it on anyway
    works perfectly

    DO you have more than one input for your speakers?
    If so then why don't you just plug the monitor port into the speakers.
    Or if your speakers support Optical in then use the Optical out at the back of the PS3

    i had mine setup like this. Also my speakers have an auxiliary input.

    PS3 -> Monitor (HDMI->DVI)
    PS3 Audio -> Speakers
    Computer -> Speakers

    The audio connections are analgoue but that's not a huge concern of mine.
