Tried to sign in and get the request to update. Done that and when I try to sign in I get service down for maintenance. So we still cant sign in then? Just install the update ready for the network to be switched on?
They're currently rolling it out, starting with the US. Edit: Scrub that, looks like it's changed in the past few minutes. Maybe. Edit: Edit: Maybe not.
Have they specifically said if they are giving and kind of compensation at all? (free games, free psn+, e.t.c) I've heard lots of third hand reports but nothing concrete. EDIT: Still down.
There was a post on Kotaku recently saying that they would give customers 2 free games from a list of 5.
Should be up and running in the UK and Ireland now, according to the Playstation Facebook page.....just doing the 3.61 update
Seems a bit stupid that I still can't change my password as the website is down. Updating on PS3, but the website says "Playstation Network Status : Offline". *edit* yeah, atleast they reset all passwords.
Just go to log-in through your console and it'll automatically prompt you to change your password. Quite simple and seems to be fool-proof (had auto log-in enabled prior to this whole thing and a status update came on telling me to manually log-in to change my password, after automatically logging me out once at the dashboard).
Very strange then. You sure that you went to the "Log-In" option within the dashboard? It physically wouldn't let me do anything beyond either change my password or remain logged out once that option was selected.
Judging from my attempts to apply the password reset through the website option, the Sony servers seem to be a little overloaded at the moment because pages are taking a lifetime to load and then it times out before you get any further. I think I'm going to wait an extra day before doing the process in hope that most people have done it and the servers will go more smoothly.
If for some crazy reason they offer either of the Pixel Junk Shooter games, everyone should get them....
I was quite surprised when the update came up. Nice one! I hope the store isn't too long coming back online.
