Got a new modular antec PSU, just a couple of questions: 1) One of the leads attached to the PSU has 3 Serial ATA connectors on the same lead. Can I connect the HDD and disk drive to the same lead or do I attach seperate ones? 2) With molex connectors, does it matter which one your fan is attached to or can I just attach them to the nearest most convenient one?? My case is an Antec 1200 with adjustable fan speed things that can be accessed from the outside of the case, with my previous PSU if they were on the lowest speed setting they would not start on start-up unless I increased and then decreased the fan speed back to the lowest, if that makes sense. Don't know whether that had anything to do with how they were connected. thanks.
if you have 3 sata power connectors on 1 lead then yes you can connect harddrives and stat optical drives to it, upto the three connectors, and if they reach, without strain. the nearest molex is the best bet, to limit cable runs, fans don't draw huge amounts of power, so it can share with everything else
Can you plug more than one fan into the same molex connector? Every fan connection seems to have pins at the front and holes at the back which would suggest you can, or would the connected fans not get enough power then? Thanks for the reply.
yes you can, although if you have 4 fans connected, that makes 1 big ass connector, floating around inside your case
