A bunch of games that were not previously showing up on PSN up until last night are now present, e.g. Thumper, SuperHyperCube, Wayward Sky, etc.
Mine is coming later this afternoon according to DPD; can't wait I set up a US account last night to grab their demo disc; a few more games on there.
I completely forgot it included a demo disc! Just jumped right into playing Rez and Thumper (worth the price of entry for those two alone). Gave Battlezone a try too, but it's surprisingly difficult (mainly the aiming). Doesn't help that the tutorial messages auto-cancel rather aggressively, so I didn't realise until after several deaths that using the 'boost' function drains your shield.
I haven't bought any games, I wanted to blast through the demo disc to see what's what. I'll definitely be picking up Rez Infinite demo; it's every bit as good as you'd expect a VR version of Rez to be. I really enjoyed the Eve Valkyrie demo too but it priced way too high imo, which is a shame. Out of the Battlezone and RIGS demo's I preferred Battlezone but I know what you mean about the tutorial. I was pleasantly surprised I felt no motion sickness in any of the titles I tried; it was a big worry of mine and one of the reasons I cancelled my Oculus Rift pre-order. I've tried the PSVR since, thus getting it, but I was still concerned titles like Eve and RIGS would make me feel ill. The only title that did make me feel funny was Here They Lie; it places you in a really strange world and the controls were odd. I really want to play Batman VR, it looks really good, probably grab that later too.
Rift, Vive, and PSVR are all above the hardware threshold for avoiding nausea. It's pretty much 100% (barring a tracking issue, e.g. bright lights for PSVR or mirrored surfaces for Vive) down to the software you are running on them whether you experience nausea or not.
I'm actually really impressed at how well the PS4 holds up graphics wise. It's really impressive considering how ‘underpowered’ it is compared to high end PC's.
Just had a great session playing Rez with the surround sound on. It's incredible in VR, mindblowing stuff
