I know PLL and VTT are used in helping get higher FSB speeds, but I have also heard that with 45nm chips, 1.4v VTT can kill a chip.

Via a member on OCN who SS a data sheet from intel, it is stated that the maximum FSB Term is 1.55v. If this is true then, you think 1.5v is the absolute max on a 65nm chip?

Also what is the absolute max PLL you can apply to the chip?

My QX9650, I wouldn't push more than 1.4v personally, I'd just worry too much...

45nm chip.... Mine is 65nm bud. It can go much higher. 45nm chip's max voltage is 1.5v, I can go 1.55v

Besides Q6600s are built like tanks.

I still wouldn't push it that high. Most cars can handle NOS, but wont last if you do...

I am not going to push it to 1.5v, but if need be probably to around 1.42-1.44, but only if I need too.

Later on this winter once it gets nice and cold, I plan on doing some benching again and test out my new found knowledge :D

Plus the difference between 3.6 and 3.8GHz will be so low the wear on the CPU just isn't worth it... I dropped mine from 4GHz to 3.8GHz as it'd just randomly fallover, even with 1.35v...

I can easily hit 3.8 if I want on this CPU, but I am not trying for speed, but FSB clock. The CPU can be left at 3.6GHz for all I care, but if I can push the FSB higher, it will limit the bottleneck of a 560Ti @ 1000+ core.

hmmmm curious. My motherboard refuses to to 400 now though, although it did it happily with my old Q9450. What did you tweak to get 450?

H50 with 1 UK3K and shroud outside when it was 20F XD There is a deadspot between 1.6v and 1.65v on this damn chip...

    EDIT: Still going

EDIT2: This is interesting. I normal don't bother just bumping this up slowing... I usually ame like Hmm... lets put this this this and this at this and see if ti runs. if it is stable, leave it....

How have you got it so high? What chipset does it use?

Hmmm. What has changed in your setup in the meantime?

Try bumping the PCI-E clock up to 105/110. That can help shooting for high FSBs. Generally though, at 400+ you will need to get mean with that northbridge chip (push some volts through).

EDIT: Pete, do you have GTA 4 by any chance??

    Nope. Why?

I only changed the chip, nothing else...

P45 yo. Also the VID on this chip is 1.275 :D

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRCFjfUXIgc&feature=channel_video_title

I needed more term, PLL, and NB voltage, probably a notch up on the vcore would have helped BUT I did at least boot into 4.3 :D Although at the time I didn't know the max on this chip so >.>

The UD3R/UD3P are known for being monsters when it comes to overclocking.

Is that high....? Do you have your motherboard WC or something..?

20 more minutes till the 2 hour mark. Can I make it?

Also, no, just air. The stock heat sink on the UD3P is pretty good. I just took off the metal logo plate and put a fan over it.

Also it is 735MHz FSB if I recall. I think it holds the world record.

Also the average for MOST people on the Q6600 is 3.6GHz. On water they are lucky to hit 4.0, if that. I hit 4.2. The highest overclock on a Q6600 is 5.2 or 5.3 with LN2.

If I wanted to get my FSB higher, what do I need to tweak?
