    Hy Dudes!!

This is my first casemod project, this project is quit a while in my head. In my vacation I did some real thinking about how to do it and what I want and what I don't want. I'm not gonna make a hyper watercooled system with much overclock opporunity, but it wil be a bad-ass good system with a lot good hardware. My casemod is not al about the inside and the good hardware. My casemod has to be a mix between art and a good sytem. I made a lot of sketches and I have a lot of good ideas in my head.
I want to make my case in several stages, these are:
    1. The basic case
    2. cutting all the neccesary
    3. playing with acrylic
    4. installing fans and other electronics
    5. de-assembling
    6. polishing
    7. painting
    8. re-assembling
    9. installing hardware
    10. finishing touches
It's quit a list, but when you want it good you have to put a lot of time in it.

In my next posts I will give you some pictures and with a short explanation.

    Enjoy the modding:dremel:

This is the basic shape, al the hardware and electronics are not visible.

    Here are some sketches:
This is the front of my case, with the control panel and the suck-in fans.

The DVD compartment is seen here, blue is acrylic.

The connections of the case and the reënforcements, perforated aluminum(mesh) on the vertical ribs.

I'm going to paint my case a bit like this, kinda cool with the stripes, if there are other suggestions are they welcome.

My case will be supported with "legs" on the vertical ribs.
These legs will be made of plexiglas and some mesh, and they are connected to the case with a copper tube.

Here are the aluminum sheets that will be used in this project, 350 mm x 350 mm are they.
A company cut them for my, so I got a nice and clean square.

    Some drilling
    [IMG]

I use these angeld profiles, 24 of them, that pretty boring to cut man.
And measure them all and draw the drill position one by one, that sucks:lol:

I could barely clamb these thiny things:miffed:

After a day long work, it came out like this

I've bend some mesh, that will be on the vertical ribs of the cube

    Till the next time,

    Comments or Suggestions are welcome:cooldude:

    Update time!!

Yesterday I made the motherboard Tray for my case, I bought a case for around €10,- and used the motherboard tray of the Case.
It's pretty hard to make one by your one so...

First I cut a hole with my jiggersaw
After sawing I had to remove 1 cm aluminum on the inside of the hole, tough work:miffed:

After some more fileling I fitted in my back plate.

Then I drilled some holes to attach the Tray
    [IMG]

This is how it came out at the end.

I'm now busy to make the mesh edges of the case.
I have to wait for the acrylic, so that sucks a bit.

I'm a little worried that just having those small L brackets isn't going to hold up. It seems to be after a while, especially since the case will be supported by legs attached to the corners that it will become mishapen. How strong is the structure that way?

When all the panels of the case are connected it will be a pretty strong system. The mesh L panels will also help to support it. And if it's not strong enough I'll make some adjustments.
