Modding Question about Blue LEDs

    do bi-color blue leds exist. i've never seen one, but would love to have a couple. :confused:

    i dont believe that they do, cuz blue LED are a new thing. but i could be wrong.

    yes you can get blue/red leds from maplins.

    but they cost about 7-8 quid

    There are also RGB LEDs. Jameco in the US carries them.

    621407 RGB LED from farnell.co.uk - it has two blue elements and you can ignore the green if you so choose :D

    wow thats high, i can buy 2600mcd blue 5mm for under $3 so why go with bi-color leds with the same color on both sides?

    lol you can get 2000mcd blue leds here for just over £1 too... things are more difficult when you want more than one element in the LED.

    As for making one - a good idea! Farnell sell 2 - 1 light guides so you could pop a reb and blue n the two inputs and have a high intensity mixed output, though it does take up a bit more space...
