    Hey guys,

Basically i have a computer, laptop and Windows home server attached to a Netgear DG834Gv3.

Now the internet in my house goes through a sagem router in my dad's room which he got from sky. He doesnt want me trailing a cat 5 lead into the router so what i'd like to know is

Can the netgear router use the wireless signal from the sagem router to provide internet for the computers attached to the netgear?

    Hope that makes sense!

    Thanks guys

It's called "client mode" and after a quick look at the manual I don't think that router supports it.

A WRT54G with a custom firmware's the best bet if you want to go ahead with this, but for the money individual wireless cards might be the better option.

alternative is to get a wireless bridge:
    eg
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/52459

connect the bridge to your router
get your dads router to recognise the bridge
Specify your dad's router as the gateway.

or you could replace your router, getting a new one that would be able to work in bridge mode.

or just get wireless cards/adaptors for each computer etc. directly connect them (wirelessly) to your dad's router.

I was about to start looking into this myself, but for my Netgear Wireless-N router.

I think I am just going to use wireless cards myself...

Get the best router for your ISP. especially if it's a LLU provider.
