aaawww, you're too kind. edit: i suppose i should add a serious answer to this thread. when i made this decision, i ended up with a PS3. a console is a fairly big purchase, and i didn't want to feel like i'd cheaped out. i didn't want to pay extra for wifi, and online play, and i didn't want to have to worry about a RROD. and the PS3 is very slightly more open than the xbox, with its user-replaceable hard disk and bluetooth/usb controllers. in the end though, i'm sure i would have been just as happy with an xbox. the best way to decide is to look at the exclusive games catalog, and decide which has more games you are interested in. and if you have more friends on live than on PSN, probably go for an xbox. it gets kind of annoying not knowing anybody IRL to play with.
No one likes to admit it but the PS3 is better on the hardware side, while the 360 definitely has the better games, not to say that the PS3 doesn't have any good games but the 360 just has more
If you want more games and to deal with MS then get an xbox, if you want to play games and play blueray get the ps3. if you have lot's of cash buy all 3
On a serious note, it all comes down to the type of games you like. If you're just into sports and other multi platform games, then it comes down to the controller. The biggest thing to me is the PS3 is Bluray. Which is nice if you want to start building an HD collection. What games do you want to play?
Seriously....? PS3. Good Better Hardware Bluray Linux Everything built in to get you online Free online play easier changing of HDDs Folding Bad Cost Online gaming not as well implemented as xbl (so I have been told, and have read) A bit of a bulky thing Improved hardware seems to make no difference as the games developed for both ps3 and xbox and end up looking basically the same Not too many people have them, not so good for online play/chat with friends Doesn't have the best catalogue of games Some say trophies aren't as good as achievements Certain models do not have backwards compatibility 360. Good Cost Live system works very well Good catalogue of games Everyone has one Good support for RROD Achievements system is nice Good arcade games Bad Have to pay for live Have to pay for a wireless adapter Can be flaky with original xbox games, many aren't supported at all RROD No linux, or anything open. You are locked to the dash and thats that There, now go and back your own mind up based on what works for you. I went to go buy a PS3, then ended up getting an xbox because all my mates have it and I couldn't pass up the console and 4 games for just over the half the price of the same deal for the PS3. I am sure the PS3 is a good console though, I would like to get one if I had the spare cash.
Lol to the above. My Aunt would hasten to disagree with that statement. I would say xbox 360 for its games, PS3 for its 'inclusivness' i.e the stuff you need is actually included - you don't need to buy a wifi antenna or anything. Oh and theres no RROD. But don't get me wrong - theres nothing even remotley better than xbox live. The PS3 does have blu ray though.... Lol no conclusion for either really. They both have their pros and cons.
I think I've written a small novel by now on how much better I think the PS3 is, I just can't do it anymore. But hell yeah PC Cheesecake!
Opened this question up to my work colleague, sat back and just soaked up the volley of diatribe. (he is a xbox fan) The rant lasted at least ten minutes. Games availability quality blar blar… I’d built a nice little q6600 on a 680i Asus board added one 8800GTX and a Sound Blaster Fata1ty 2gb of Dom 1066 slightly OC’d it (all water cooled) and gave it him, He used for the obvious, download of pornography .. facebook etc typical usage of a non PC gaming Xbox user. His Xbox broke last week and he has been forced to use the pc for gaming….. Mwahahahahahahh…. Unfortunately I can’t shut him up now about how fantastic graphics are on the PC how great the games (now he is playing Spore) I think I have converted him to PC’s but in the same time created a monster. Btw ..we are both approaching our 40th birthday this next few months… Sad isn’t it. Lol
if you want blu ray id swing to PS3 as a cheapish way to get it 360 has more games and a larger user base, better online which mightnt mean much if you dont have a current gen console but is a big plus in my book
